WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE A SMARTPHONE? DOES MY PHONE STILL GO IN A POUCH?

Yes. Whether it’s a smartphone or not, all phones will be placed in a Yondr pouch inside no-phone areas. We do this to create the same uninterrupted experience for everyone on the dancefloor — no screens, no scroll, just presence.

WHAT IF I'M UNSURE ABOUT ATTENDING BECAUSE OF THE NO PHONE POLICY?

We get itthis setup isn’t for everyone. But at BURST, we believe presence is power. Removing phones brings us back to what matters: the sound, the moment, and each other. 


Still not convinced? No hard feelingsif you’d prefer not to attend due to our no-phone policy, you can request a refund before April 23 before 12:00 CEST via [email protected]. 

WHAT IF I NEED TO BE REACHABLE OR THERE'S AN EMERGENCY?

No problem — you’ll always have access to your phone in one of our clearly marked Phone Zones. If staying connected is important, we recommend checking in there regularly.
You can also leave your phone on vibrate so you’ll feel it if a call comes through.

We’ve also got you covered on-site. Our awareness teams (wearing red vests) and roaming security are available at all times to support you. Just flag someone down if you need help — they’re there for you.

WHAT HAPPENS IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY INSIDE THE VENUE?

Our security and staff are trained for emergency response, and equipped with radios and phones. If something happens, follow their instructions immediately.

Yondr staff with unlock tools will be available near exits and on the dancefloor if access to phones is needed for safety.

HOW DO I UNLOCK MY PHONE AFTER THE EVENT?

At the end of the show, Yondr staff will be stationed at all exits to unlock your pouch. Simply remove your phone and drop the pouch in the bins provided.

CAN I PAY WITH MY MOBILE DEVICE?

Only in the Phone Zone near the entrance. We recommend bringing your bank card / credit card with you so you can always buy tokens, even with your phone locked.

WILL THE POUCH AFFECT MY PHONE IN ANY WAY?

Not at all. The Yondr pouch doesn’t interfere with your phone or its functionality once removed.

DO I KEEP MY PHONE WITH ME THE WHOLE TIME?

Yes — your phone stays on you at all times. You’re just responsible for keeping it sealed while in the no-phone zones.

WHAT IF I LOSE MY FRIENDS?

We recommend choosing one of our Meeting Points when you arrive. That way, if you get separated, you know where to reconnect — no messages needed.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I REFUSE TO PUT MY PHONE AWAY?

Our team will first gently remind you of the policy and ask you to respect the space we’re creating together. 

If the phone use continues in a no-phone zone, we’ll finally ask you to leave the event as this breaches our no-phone policy.. 

We take this seriously — not to restrict, but to protect the energy on the dancefloor.
No screens. No scroll. No exceptions. 

WHAT IF I NEED TO TAKE MY MEDICATION AT A SPECIFIC TIME?

Set a timer or alarm before locking your phone in the pouch. When it goes off, head to a Phone Zone to unlock it.

Prefer analog? Bring a watch to stay on schedule without needing your phone.

CAN I BUY TICKETS AT THE ENTRANCE OF BURST?

There is no opportunity to buy tickets at the entrance.

Why do I pay an additional entertainment tax of €1,50 per ticket?

As of the 1st of January 2023, events and festivals will be charged by the City of Amsterdam for entertainment tax (vermakelijkhedenretributie, vmr).

DO YOU HAVE TO ENTER THE FESTIVAL AT THE SAME TIME WITH A GROUP TICKET?

No, you will receive 4 separate tickets so everyone can enter the festival in his own time.

HOW DO I PERSONALIZE MY TICKET?

During the ticket purchase process, the ticket owner’s full name, email address and other information needs to be filled for every individual ticket. Later on, it is possible to can change this data with the help of this website.

CAN MY TICKET BE SCANNED FROM MY MOBILE PHONE?

The e-ticket can be scanned from your phone, but make sure you download it upfront, have your battery charged and turn your screen brightness fully up at the entrance to ensure a steady flow going in. Then, it’s time to put your phone away and start dancing.

I LOST MY TICKET, WHAT SHOULD I DO?

If you purchased your ticket via the BURST website, you can resend your booking confirmation email with the help of this page.

If you purchased it via Resident Advisor, Festicket, Ticketswap, Appic or Partybussen please login to your personal account on the above mentioned websites and re-download your ticket.

HOW CAN I BUY A LOCKER TICKET?

Lockers are available here.

Lockers will also be available at the festival location. Keep in mind that you are responsible for your personal belongings. The organization recommends taking no valuable possessions to the event.

HOW DO E-LOCKERS WORK?

At BURST we work with e-lockers, which means there is no deposit and no key. You will receive your locker number and pin code by email.

You enter the pin code of your locker at the lock to open and close it. Be careful when entering your pin code, people might look over your shoulder. Going home? Close your locker and go to the exit, you don’t have to pass by the Lockerbox service desk.

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY LOCKER NUMBER AND CODE?

You will receive an e-mail with your locker number, pin code and instructions no later than the morning of the event. If you have not received a code, please show your locker ticket at the Lockerbox service desk on the festival terrain.

WHAT ARE LOCKER DIMENSIONS?

The small lockers are 24cm wide, 28cm high and 50cm deep.

Large lockers are 35cm wide, 28cm high and 50cm deep.

I FORGOT SOMETHING IN MY LOCKER.

Items which were forgotten inside the lockers are collected by Lockerbox. You can check if your belongings were found by filling this form.

CAN I PURCHASE EARPLUGS AT THE EVENT?

Earplugs will be available at the festival earplug booth. With music above 87 dB it is smart to use earplugs with a special music filter. With these earplugs you can still hear the music perfectly, conversations remain intelligible and most important of all, you prevent hearing damage and the annoying ringing after the event. Love your ears!

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I LOST/FOUND SOMETHING?

If you lose or find something, you can go to the locker desk at the festival terrain. Everything will be collected there. After the event you can contact the organization on [email protected] to check if we found your properties.

IS BURST AN 18+ EVENT?

Yes, visitors under 18 will not be allowed (even when accompanied by a parent, guardian and / or other adults).

Should I bring an identification document with myself?

ID’s will be checked at the entrance without exception, so don’t forget to bring your driver’s license, ID card or passport. If you do not have a valid identity document you will be denied access without right to refund of the entry fee.
A valid identification document is an official certificate, therefore copies will not be accepted.

HOW CAN I ENTER THE FESTIVAL?

Access to the event site can only be provided if you are in possession of a valid ticket. Valid tickets can be obtained via the official BURST website and Ticketswap. Once purchased, tickets cannot be returned.

The organization strongly recommends not to buy any tickets through a third-party resellers or non-official partners. Any evidence of irregularities such as, but not limited to: (attempted) use of (false) admission tickets and wristbands fraud is reported to the police.

Access to the event site can only be provided if you are in possession of a valid ticket. Valid tickets can be obtained via the official Loveland van Oranje and Ticketswap. Once purchased, tickets cannot be returned.

The organization strongly recommends not to buy any tickets through a third-party resellers or non-official partners. Any evidence of irregularities such as, but not limited to: (attempted) use of (false) admission tickets and wristbands fraud is reported to the police.

CAN I REENTER THE EVENT TERRAIN WITH MY TICKET?

After leaving the event area, the right of access to the event site expires. Since we scan the barcode of your ticket at the entrance, stamps or other methods will not be used to identify previous accessed visitors.

IS THERE A SECURITY CHECK UPON ENTERING THE FESTIVAL?

Every visitor that enters the event area will be checked by a security employee. It’s allowed to request the search to be executed by an employee of the same sex. This check is set to all visitors, guests, employees and artists in order to protect the general safety on the event. Refusing the check will lead to denied access to the event.

WHAT SIZE BAG IS ALLOWED ON THE FESTIVAL TERRAIN?

You can bring a bag of maximum A4 size to the festival

IS SMOKING ALLOWED?

It is strictly prohibited to smoke at indoor areas (such as tents). You are allowed to smoke outside, please make sure to throw the cigarette buds into the designated trash cans to keep our beautiful festival terrain clean.

WHICH PAYMENT METHOD IS BEING USED AT BURST?

At BURST we work with a coin system. You can purchase coins with cash, debit card, or credit card. (watch out! We do not accept American Express)

CAN I BRING MEDICATION INTO THE EVENT?

Medication is allowed when it’s medically necessary and in a sealed package.

To bring it in, you’ll need:
– A signed statement from your doctor
– A valid ID or passport to match the name on the note

If you require constant access to your phone due to a medical condition, you need to inform us via just email [email protected] ahead of the event. We’ll work with you directly to find a suitable solution. Please note it is important to inform us prior to the event.

CAN I BRING A SMALL DIGITAL OR ANALOG CAMERA?

No — small digital cameras, handycams, SLR, mirrorless or any other cameras are not allowed— we’re keeping things low-key and in the moment.

HOW CAN I BUY A SHUTTLE BUS TICKET?

WHERE DOES THE SHUTTLE BUS DEPART FROM AND WHEN?

The shuttle bus to BURST will depart from station Amsterdam Amstel.

IS MY TICKET VALID FOR BOTH TO AND FROM THE FESTIVAL?

The shuttle bus tickets for the BURST festival are return tickets valid for one person. When traveling back to Amsterdam Amstel station, your ticket will be checked again, so please hold on to it carefully.

WHAT ARE THE SHUTTLE BUS RULES TO FOLLOW?

Smoking in the shuttle bus is strictly prohibited. Using the shuttle bus is at your own risk. Instructions of the driver and supervising employees need to be followed at any time. The driver and supervising employees have the authority to deny (groups of) people to the bus.

WHAT IF THE BUS IS DELAYED?

In case of delay neither Trigion Traffic Support, nor YourTicketprovider.nl are responsible for any (financial) consequences of missed connections to public transport.
