How does the cashless system work at Burst?
Theater Amsterdam is a cashless event venue, and there are two ways to pay:
- Using your own debit or credit card: You can pay directly at the bar with your card throughout the event.
- Using a BURST cash card: If you don’t have a physical card with you, you can purchase a cash card for €1. You can load money onto this card and use it to pay during the event. The cash card can be topped up by depositing cash or by completing a transaction over the phone. Charging stations are located at the entrance of the event.
How can I top up my cash card?
You can top up your cash card in any way you like, including cash, debit card, credit card, or via a phone transaction. You can use multiple top-up methods on the same card, and multiple people can share one card.
Charging stations are located at the entrance of the event, and this is the only place where you can top up your card. When you purchase your cash card, you need to add a minimum of €20 the first time. Any remaining balance on your card can be refunded after the event.
Can I pay without using the cash card?
Yes. If you have a debit or credit card, you can also pay directly at the bar.
Why can’t I pay with my phone?
BURST has a no-phone policy. This means you cannot use your phone on the dance floor or at the bar. Upon entry, you will receive a pouch to store your phone. We do this so all attendees can fully enjoy the moment and the collective energy on the dance floor.
Important: if you don’t have a debit or credit card you want to pay with, make sure to get a cash card at the entrance before storing your phone. You can top up the cash card or check your balance in the designated Phone Zone.
What happens if I lose my cash card?
Please treat your cash card as you would cash. In case of loss, the balance cannot be refunded.
Is the cash card valid for entry?
The cash card is only valid for payments during this event and does not grant access to any events.
Can I get a refund for the remaining balance on my cash card, and how?
