We’re at risk of losing our vibrant Amsterdam festival scene. Festivals are the heart of Amsterdam, where we come together to party, dance, enjoy music and art, and make new friends. Festivals are where we can truly be ourselves and celebrate our freedoms and rights. We can’t let this slip away!

The city wants to run an incomprehensible experiment with event policies. We won’t know until the end of 2024 whether we can organize festivals in 2025, or when and where they will take place.

This creates unworkable risks for festivals and lacks flexibility for new initiatives. You can’t organize a safe and successful festival in just six months. Organizers who get a spot won’t be able to deliver a quality festival for you, and those who don’t get permits will go bankrupt. We might too.
